Step by step guide

1. Create an account
To apply for student accommodation with us, you need to register as a customer with us. Once the account is created, you can easily log in with Mobile BankID or social security number and password. Register here !

Are you missing a Swedish social security number? 
It is fine to register and search for an apartment without a Swedish social security number. Enter your date of birth: year, month and day. When you proceed to step two, the system will auto-generate a social security number with 4 letters that replaces the last 4 digits of a Swedish social security number.

2. Choose your study location
We offer student housing in several locations around the country. Jönköping, Linköping, Luleå, Malmö, Norrköping, Stockholm, Umeå, Uppsala and Växjö. Choose the city where you want to live and which is close to where you will study.

3. Requirements to meet
You must be 18 years of age and be actively studying at least 15 credits per semester at a university or college. Heimstaden conducts a study check every semester to check that you meet the requirement. Furthermore, you must have an acceptable income in the form of study funds from CSN or service and have no payment complaints and good references.

In connection with being offered student housing, you need to certify that you are studying, for example with a registration notice, admission notice or a study certificate. Please read our rental policy for students here.

4. Expression of interest
To make expressions of interest in our available student housing, just click on the orange button ”Report interest” found on each object. It is possible to register interest in a maximum of 5 objects.

5. Monitor and respond to offers
On My Pages you can follow the status of each apartment you have expressed interest in. When the registration period has expired, the applications are processed by the responsible landlord. Those who are invited to a viewing will receive an invitation via email. If you are invited, you need to log in to My Pages and  accept  or  decline the viewing.
If you are unable to come to the viewing, you must immediately contact the responsible lessor.
