Power outage at home

Are you completely or only partially without electricity?

  • Dear tenants,

    Die gesamte Elektronik schaltet sich aus und es wird in der ganzen oder Teilen der Wohnung dunkel. Der Strom ist weg und Sie wissen nicht, was Sie dagegen tun können.
    Dann empfehlen wir die untere Anleitung zu beachten:

    1.  First check whether it lights up in the neighbors' home or in the staircase. If it lights up, the problem is probably only in your home. If it is also dark around your home, it could be a bigger problem, e.g. a fault in the power supply.
    2. Find your electrical fuse box. The fuse box is usually located in the hallway or in the checkroom.
    3. Fuse boxes for automatic fuses have switches that are tripped by flipping them down when the system is overloaded. This type of fuse box is usually found in newer and recently renovated homes. It is easy to tell which fuse has blown because it is in the off- position.
    4. Older fuse boxes are usually found in somewhat older properties and contain plug-in fuses that break when triggered and then have to be replaced.
    5. Check to see if a fuse switch needs to be turned on or remove the porcelain fuses one by one in an older electrical fuse box. If the colored bead of a fuse is loose or has a burnt contact area, it is broken and needs to be replaced. Take the old fuse to the store to make sure you replace the blown fuse with a proper one - of the same voltage.

    If the main grid is no longer working, you can contact your electricity company. Wait until the fault has been rectified, it shouldn't take too long. Most electricity companies today have well-developed service functions and electricians who can be called out at short notice.
